Introducing the ERA Vectis Hook Bolt Gearbox

The ERA Vectis hook bolt genuine gearbox is engineered for versatility and security, featuring a split spindle design with 92mm centres and a choice of 35mm backset. This innovative gearbox is compatible with any ERA multipoint lock, allowing for seamless mortice locking functionality.

Each unit comes complete with three keys (Genuine Key Blank: 611V), ensuring that you have everything you need for installation and operation. The distinctive square design, devoid of corner cut-outs, is a hallmark of the Vectis range, making it easily recognizable. The UK keyway is specifically designed to accommodate traditional mortice keys, enhancing its usability.

Key Specifications:

  • Overall Length: 221mm
  • Width: Backset + 18mm
  • Available Backsets: 35mm or 45mm (Note: Regular ERA Gearboxes also come in 30mm backsets)

The ERA Vectis gearboxes are designed with flexibility in mind. They can be equipped with a classic deadbolt, a standard euro cut-out, an Invincible cylinder cut-out, or a Vectis 5 lever mechanism. Choose between a deadbolt or a hook bolt that throws upward for added security.

For those seeking the utmost in protection, consider the British Standard Fortress invincible gearbox, which features hardened drill plates for enhanced durability.

Interchangeability is a key feature of the ERA range. With the exception of the British Standard Fortress lock, all ERA gearboxes can be swapped out, allowing you to customize your locking solution. If your client requires a hook lock instead of a deadbolt or a Vectis locking multipoint door lock, simply reach out to us, and we will build the lock to order.

Elevate your security solutions with the ERA Vectis hook bolt gearbox—where innovation meets reliability.

To ensure you have all the necessary information for your ERA Vectis hook bolt gearbox, here are some clarifications on how to measure specific components and understand the operation:

How to Measure the Backset:

The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole or the handle. To measure it:

  1. Place a ruler or measuring tape against the edge of the door.
  2. Measure straight across to the center of the keyhole or handle.
  3. The measurement you obtain is the backset.

How to Measure the Centres (PZ):

The centres measurement (PZ) refers to the distance between the center of the keyhole and the center of the handle. To measure it:

  1. Measure from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle.
  2. Ensure that you are measuring straight across for accuracy.
  3. This measurement should be 92mm for the ERA Vectis gearbox.

Understanding the Operation:

The operation of the ERA Vectis gearbox can be described as follows:

  • Lift Lever: This mechanism allows you to lift the handle to engage the locking system. When the handle is lifted, it activates the latch and hook bolt, securing the door.

  • Split Spindle Nightlatch: This operation allows for independent use of the handle and the lock. The split spindle design means that turning the key can lock or unlock the door without affecting the handle's operation, providing added convenience and security.

By understanding these specifications and measurements, you can ensure proper installation and functionality of your ERA Vectis hook bolt gearbox.
