Product Overview: Fuhr 935 Stable Door Multipoint Lock

The Fuhr 935 Stable Door multipoint lock is designed for versatility and security, featuring a combination of 1 Roller, 1 Hook, 1 Deadbolt, and 1 Latch. This innovative locking system allows for independent operation of the door's top and bottom sections, making it ideal for maintaining ventilation while ensuring safety for pets and children.

Key Features:

  • Dual Operation: The lock operates in two halves, allowing the top section to open independently for ventilation or interaction with guests, while the bottom section can be used for standard door operation.
  • Robust Mechanism: The lock consists of two locking mechanisms that can function independently or together. A specially designed right angle bracket enhances the strength of the interlocking sashes.
  • Top Section: The 859 series split spindle operation lock includes a hook, roller, latch, and deadbolt.
  • Bottom Section: The 855 series key-operated lock features a bottom shootbolt, hook, roller, and key-operated deadbolt, but no latch.

Specifications:

  • Gearbox Dimensions: The top section features a split spindle gearbox, while the bottom section is key wind. Both have a deadbolt that throws 20mm. The gearbox dimensions are 220mm x width + 18mm.
  • Latch and Deadbolt Heights: The latch (top section only) and deadbolt are both 31mm high, with a 61mm distance between them. Gearboxes are secured to faceplates with three screws, with specific measurements for screw placement.
  • Enhanced Locking Feel: Fuhr locks come with a pre-fitted ball bearing and spring, providing a more positive locking experience. Replacement gearboxes from Duffells include these components for easy installation.

Compatibility Note:

When replacing an existing Fuhr multipoint lock or gearbox, be aware that latch heights may differ. Older versions have a latch height of 28mm, while newer ones are 33mm. If the old latch is intact, it can be reused by removing it from the old gearbox.

Hook and Roller Specifications:

  • Hook Dimensions: Fuhr hooks have a 20mm throw and a case measuring 135.5mm high x 40mm wide x 15mm thick, typically throwing upwards.
  • Roller Cam Travel: The roller cams travel 19mm with an adjustment range of +/- 0.8mm.

Operating Instructions:

  • For Single Door Operation:
    • Unlock both cylinders to retract the deadbolts.
    • Push the lever to disengage locking points.
  • For Stable Door Operation:
    • Unlock the top section cylinder to retract the deadbolt.
    • Push the lever to disengage locking points and open the top section independently.

Locking and Unlocking:

  • To Lock:
    • Lift the handle upwards to engage locking points.
    • Turn the key to lock the points and main deadbolt (if applicable).
  • To Unlock:
    • Turn the key to unlock the system.
