Product Overview

The Technal multipoint gearbox, commonly known as the Stremler, is designed for enhanced security and ease of use. With a robust 24mm flat faceplate, this gearbox integrates a latch and deadbolt mechanism, ensuring your door remains securely locked. Please note that extensions are not included with this product.

Locking Mechanism

To lock the door:

  1. As you close the door, the latch will automatically engage, providing immediate security.

  2. Simply turn the key to throw and engage the locking points, effectively securing the door.

Unlocking Process

To unlock the door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock by "unwinding" the locking points, releasing the security features.

  2. For added convenience, a further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch, allowing for easy access.

Operation Details

  • Key Wind: The system operates smoothly with a key wind mechanism, ensuring reliable performance.

  • Latch Reversal: To reverse the latch, push in the flat diecast plate located at the back of the case while simultaneously pushing the latch in. This action will release the latch, allowing you to reverse and reinstate it as needed.

This multipoint gearbox is an excellent choice for those seeking a blend of security and functionality in their door locking system.

To measure the backset, follow these steps:

  1. Identify the Door Edge: Locate the edge of the door where the lock will be installed.

  2. Measure from the Edge: Use a tape measure to find the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder hole. This distance is your backset measurement.

  3. Standard Measurements: Common backset measurements are typically 25mm, 40mm, or 60mm, but in your case, it is 26mm.

To measure the centres (PZ measurement):

  1. Locate the Cylinder Hole: Identify the hole where the cylinder will be placed.

  2. Measure from the Cylinder Hole to the Keyhole: Measure the distance from the center of the cylinder hole to the center of the keyhole. This distance is your PZ measurement, which in your case is 92mm.

Regarding the operation of the Key Wind mechanism:

The Key Wind operation refers to the way the locking system is engaged and disengaged using a key. When you insert the key and turn it, the mechanism winds up the internal components, allowing the latch and deadbolt to secure or release the door. This ensures a smooth and reliable locking experience, providing peace of mind and security for your entryway.
