Product Overview: Elite Key Wind Multipoint Door Lock
The Elite Key Wind multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and ease of use, featuring a robust mechanism that includes 3 hooks, 1 deadbolt, and 1 latch. This lock is ideal for timber and composite doors, particularly those equipped with long pull handles, eliminating the need for a lever lift to engage the locking points.
Key Features:
- Configurations: Available in standard and "Heritage" versions, with the gearbox positioned higher on the door for the latter.
- Durability: Manufactured in Europe, these locks come with a "Silbear" coating that provides 480 hours of salt spray protection, ensuring longevity and resistance to corrosion.
- Identification: Look for the Elite logo stamped on the faceplate, which features a 20mm radius. Key wind locks are typically installed on doors with pull handles.
- Design Similarities: While they may resemble the older Roto MVD or "Roto mark 2" locks, Elite key wind locks operate differently, sharing latches with automatic locks but differing in their locking mechanism.
Specifications:
- Gearbox Options: Available in 35mm or 45mm backset, single spindle lock. A double spindle version is unnecessary for automatic locking gearboxes.
- Dimensions: Gearbox measures 200mm high plus the backset (account for an additional 2mm for the faceplate).
- Deadbolt and Latch: The deadbolt projects 20mm and is 32mm high, while the latch is 30mm high with a 10mm projection. The distance between the latch and deadbolt is 63mm.
- Centre Measurements: Positioned at 62mm and 92mm, with the top spindle located 122mm from the bottom of the case. Single spindle locks feature a round hole for the second spindle.
Operation: Key Wind
To Lock the Door:
- Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
- Turn the key to throw and engage the locking points.
To Unlock the Door:
- Turn the key to unlock by "unwinding" the locking points.
- A further quarter turn retracts the latch.
This lock has been rigorously tested for 480 hours of salt spray exposure, meeting EN1675 Grade 5 standards, ensuring it stands up to the elements while providing reliable security for your home.

Measuring Guidelines
Backset Measurement: To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This distance is crucial for ensuring proper fit and function.
Centres Measurement: For measuring the centres (PZ), measure from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. This measurement is essential for aligning the lock correctly with the door handle.
Faceplate Measurement: To measure the faceplate, you need to measure the width and height of the area where the lock will be installed. Ensure to account for any additional features or design elements that may affect the size.
This comprehensive specification ensures that you have all the necessary details for selecting and installing the Elite Key Wind multipoint door lock effectively.
