Product Overview: ERA Vectis Deadbolt Multipoint Door Lock
The ERA Vectis Deadbolt multipoint door lock is engineered for security and reliability, featuring a robust design that includes 2 Rollers, 2 Hooks, 1 Deadbolt, and 1 Latch. This lock is supplied with a 5 Lever gearbox and comes with 2 Mortice keys, ensuring ease of use and enhanced security.
Key Features:
- No Cylinder Required: Prevents snapping, enhancing security.
- Brand Variability: ERA locks may be stamped with various brands such as Homesafe, Surelock, Saracen, Spartan, Duraflex, Supa, Westward, or Cego, making identification crucial.
- Easy Identification: Look for a 5 lever mortice lock key or a UK keyhole. The holdback snib color can also indicate the brand, typically grey for deadbolt and hook bolt locks, and blue for Vectis locks.
- Split Spindle Mechanism: Simplifies replacements by focusing on one locking function.
- Compatibility: Features the same levers as the British Standard ERA Fortress mortice lock, allowing for key-alike options with traditional mortice locks.
Installation and Measurement:
To accurately identify the lock, it is recommended to remove it from the door. The distinctive square design of the ERA Vectis gearbox, measuring 221mm in length, is a key indicator. The lock is available in 35mm or 45mm backsets, with all gearboxes sharing the same dimensions.
Locking Mechanism:
ERA multipoint locks utilize a 24mm high latch and a 30mm high deadbolt, with specific screw measurements for installation. The locking system features two hook arrangements: a standard hook for tight spaces and a larger security steel hook for enhanced security.
Operation Instructions:
To lock the door:
- Lift the handle to engage the locking points.
- Turn the key to secure the locking points and main deadbolt.
To unlock the door:
- Turn the key to unlock.
- Push the handle down to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
Durability and Compliance:
The ERA Vectis lock meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 4 Corrosion Resistance standards, ensuring longevity with endurance tested to 50,000 cycles. It is designed to comply with PAS24:2012 requirements for enhanced security.

Measuring Guidelines
To ensure accurate measurements for your ERA Vectis Deadbolt multipoint door lock, follow these guidelines:
Backset Measurement:
To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole. This will give you the backset measurement needed for proper fitting.
Centres PZ Measurement:
For the PZ measurement, measure the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle spindle hole. This is crucial for ensuring that the lock operates smoothly with your door handle.
Faceplate Measurement:
To measure the faceplate, remove the existing lock and measure the width and height of the faceplate. This will help you select the correct faceplate from the drop-down options.
By following these measuring guidelines, you can ensure a perfect fit for your ERA Vectis lock, enhancing both security and functionality.
