Product Information

The Elite Key Wind multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and convenience, featuring 2 hooks, 1 deadbolt, and 1 latch.

Elite key wind multipoint door locks are primarily used on timber and composite doors, particularly those equipped with long pull handles, eliminating the need to lift a lever for engagement. Available in standard and "Heritage" configurations, these locks are crafted in Europe and come with a "Silbear" coating, providing 480 hours of salt spray protection.

Gearbox Specifications

Elite key wind gearboxes are available in 35mm or 45mm backset, single spindle configurations. A double spindle version is unnecessary as it is not compatible with an automatic locking gearbox. Both standard and heritage versions utilize the same gearbox.

The dimensions of the Elite gearboxes are 200mm high plus the backset measurement, with an additional 2mm to account for the faceplate.

  • Deadbolt: Projects 20mm, height of 32mm.
  • Latch: Height of 30mm, projects 10mm.
  • Distance: 63mm between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt.

The centers are positioned at 62mm and 92mm, with the top spindle located 122mm from the bottom of the case. Single spindle locks feature a round hole for the second spindle, which is not utilized. The gearbox is designed with a bolt-through fixing 19mm from the top spindle, with an additional fixing slot 42mm above the spindle.

Operation: Key Wind

To lock the door:

  1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
  2. Turn the key to throw and engage or "wind" out the locking points.

To unlock the door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock by "unwinding" the locking points.
  2. A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Measuring Guidelines

Backset Measurement: To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This measurement is crucial for ensuring the lock fits properly in the door.

Centres Measurement: To measure the centres, measure the distance between the center of the keyhole (or cylinder) and the center of the latch. This is typically 92mm for the Elite locks, ensuring compatibility with the lock mechanism.

Faceplate Measurement: To measure the faceplate, you need to measure the width and height of the area where the faceplate will be installed. This ensures that the faceplate fits snugly against the door surface, providing a clean and professional finish.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your Elite multipoint door lock is installed correctly and functions optimally.
