Introduction to C-TS Locks
Launched in 2012, the Maco Protect C-TS locks have effectively replaced the older G-TS range, offering a versatile solution with a split spindle that accommodates both lift lever and split spindle functions. This means a single replacement can serve the needs of the G-TS series.
Identification and Features
You can easily identify C-TS locks by the Maco logo on the faceplate and the unique shape of the locking gearboxes once removed. Available in traditional 16mm and 20mm faceplates, some models also feature a "Top Hat" faceplate, which combines a 16mm faceplate with a 24mm top faceplate for a seamless finish.
Installation Considerations
While C-TS locks are a modern addition to the Maco lineup, they are not a direct swap for G-TS locks. The locking points are positioned differently, and if the lock was tightly fitted, some adjustments will be necessary, including repositioning the keeps.
Distinctive Design
The C-TS locks are characterized by their rounded shape, particularly noticeable in the main gearbox and hook boxes. Measuring 202mm high, they are among the smaller gearboxes available. The "soft" latch design, which appears split in half, is another distinguishing feature, although Maco offers various latch variants.
Specifications
- Latch and Deadbolt Height: 30mm each
- Distance Between Latch and Deadbolt: 55mm
-
Screw Measurements:
- Top screw to center: 102mm
- Center screw to bottom screw: 110mm
When measuring the backset, remember to account for 2-3mm for the faceplate. For instance, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when not attached to the strip.
Differentiating from A-TS Locks
If your lock resembles a C-TS but has a missing top corner on the gearbox, it is likely an A-TS version, which features automatic locking. We also stock replacement locks for Maco A-TS models.
Locking Mechanism
The C-TS multipoint door locks offer two hook locking arrangements:
- Standard Uni-Directional Hook: Throws upwards, regardless of hook position.
- Hook with Anti Lift Pin: Provides higher security with additional protection against attacks, requiring special keeps due to the proximity of the pin and hook bolt.
Operation Instructions
To Lock the Door:
- Lift the handle upwards to engage the locking points.
- Secure the locking points and main deadbolt (if applicable) by turning the key.
To Unlock the Door:
- Turn the key to unlock the system.
- Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
Durability
The Maco Protect C-TS locks have been endurance tested to withstand up to 100,000 cycles, ensuring reliability and longevity.

Measuring Guidelines
To ensure accurate measurements for your Maco C-TS multipoint door lock, follow these guidelines:
Backset Measurement: To measure the backset, take the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This is crucial for ensuring a proper fit.
Centres PZ Measurement: The PZ measurement is the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. Use a ruler or tape measure for precision.
Faceplate Measurement: To measure the faceplate, check the width and length of the existing faceplate on your door. This will help you select the correct option from the drop-down menu.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your Maco C-TS lock is installed correctly and functions optimally.
