Versatile Locking Solutions

The Lockmaster range includes a variety of locks with different locking point positions. We stock the most popular versions, which can be adapted for minor alterations, or we can source the exact product you need.

Identification and Features

Lockmaster locks are easily identifiable once removed from the door, even without the logo on the faceplate. Key features include:

  • Upwards throwing locks with an anti lift pin
  • A large gearbox measuring 228mm

As the best-selling multipoint door lock in the UK, Lockmaster was acquired by Yale in the early 2010s and is now part of a broader range that includes Yale, Millenco, and others. Some locks may be rebranded by different companies, such as Milamaster.

Installation Considerations

Be aware that older Lockmaster locks may have different locking point locations, potentially requiring a 40-50mm enlargement of the routing prep on the door and repositioning of the keeps.

Gearbox Specifications

Lockmaster gearboxes come in:

  • 35mm or 45mm backsets
  • Double spindle or single spindle mechanisms
  • Bifold door versions available in 25mm and 28mm backsets

Double spindle locks feature unsprung mechanisms and should be paired with sprung door handles. Single spindles are sprung and limited to lift lever functions.

Dimensions and Fitting

  • Gearboxes: 228mm high + backset + 15mm
  • Latch and deadbolt: 30mm high
  • Distance between latch and deadbolt: 65mm

Gearboxes are fitted to faceplates with three screw holes, with measurements of 109mm between the top and middle, and middle to bottom screw holes.

Locking Mechanism Operation

To Lock the Door:

  1. Close the door to engage the latch automatically.
  2. Lift the handle to engage the locking points.
  3. Turn the key to lock the system.

To Unlock the Door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
  3. A quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Corrosion Resistance

The Lockmaster lock has been corrosion tested to BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 4 (240hrs. NSST), ensuring reliability and longevity in various environments.

This multipoint door lock combines security, functionality, and ease of use, making it an excellent choice for your door locking needs.
