Identification and Features

Lockmaster locks are easily identifiable once removed from the door, even without the logo on the faceplate. Key indicators include:

  • Upwards throwing locks with an anti-lift pin
  • A large gearbox measuring 228mm

Installation Considerations

Be aware that older versions of Lockmaster locks may have different locking point locations. This could necessitate enlarging the routing prep on the door by 40-50mm and repositioning the keeps.

Gearbox Specifications

  • 35mm or 45mm backsets
  • Double spindle or single spindle mechanisms
  • Bifold door versions in 25mm and 28mm backsets

Double spindle locks feature 62mm and 92mm centers and are unsprung, so we recommend using sprung door handles. Single spindles are sprung and limited to lift lever functions.

  • Latch and deadbolt height: 30mm
  • Distance between latch and deadbolt: 65mm
  • Screw hole measurements: Top to middle - 109mm; Middle to bottom - 109mm

Earlier versions may include a small spindle hole near the latch for holding it back.

Lock Features

Lockmaster locks can be equipped with:

  • Normal hooks or hooks with an anti-lift pin
  • Chamfered edge deadbolts with cases measuring 154mm high
  • Rollers for compression to enhance weather sealing and prevent door warping

Rollers are adjustable by 1mm for optimal sealing.

Measuring Guidelines

To ensure accurate measurements for your Lockmaster multipoint door lock, follow these guidelines:

Backset Measurement: To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This distance is crucial for ensuring the lock fits properly.

Centres Measurement: For measuring the centres (PZ), measure the distance between the center of the keyhole and the center of the handle hole. This measurement is essential for compatibility with your door hardware.

Faceplate Measurement: To measure the faceplate, remove the existing lock and measure the length and width of the faceplate. This will help you select the correct faceplate from the drop-down options.

Operation Type: Select the operation type from the drop-down menu based on how you intend to use the lock. Options may include single or double action, depending on your door's design.

By following these measurement guidelines, you can ensure that your Lockmaster multipoint door lock is installed correctly and functions optimally.
