Product Overview: Winkhaus Trulock Multipoint Door Lock

The Winkhaus Trulock multipoint door lock is engineered for security and reliability, featuring a robust design that includes 2 hooks, 1 deadbolt, and 1 latch. This locking system is ideal for timber and composite doors, particularly in social housing and new build projects.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Point Locking System: The Trulock system incorporates a central latch and deadbolt, complemented by 2 or more hook locking points, ensuring enhanced security.
  • Operation Options: Available in lift lever operation, split spindle, or key wind, providing flexibility to suit various user preferences.
  • Handed Hook Locking Points: Trulocks are designed with handed hooks that cannot be reversed on-site, ensuring precise fitting and operation.
  • Identification: Easily identify the Trulock by checking the faceplate for the Winkhaus logo and the Secured by Design logo. The central deadbolt and handed hooks are key indicators of this model.
  • Interchangeability: The Trulock gearbox shares routing details with Cobra locks, allowing for straightforward upgrades or changes in locking operations. New keeps and handles may be necessary for modifications.
  • Compact Gearbox Design: All Winkhaus gearboxes, except the AV4, measure 185mm high with a backset of +15mm, making them among the smallest on the market. The design includes a groove above the spindle for easy handle fitting.
  • Rivet Attachment: Gearboxes are attached to the faceplate with rivets, making them unique and easily identifiable. For detailed instructions on replacing a Winkhaus gearbox, refer to our guide and video.
  • Versatile Gearbox Options: Trulock gearboxes feature a latch and deadbolt and are available in various operations. The color-coded stickers on the side of the gearbox indicate the type: blue for lift lever, green for split spindle, and red for key wind. The split spindle option offers versatility, allowing it to function as a lever-operated lock.
  • Legacy Models: Older Winkhaus gearboxes may have screws for attachment and a passivated yellow finish. These models are no longer available but can be identified by their operation stickers.

Installation and Operation:

  • Fitting Tolerance: The specially designed tensile steel handed hook with a 4.5mm chamfer allows for a high degree of fitting tolerance, enhancing door installation.
  • Locking Procedure:
    • Lift the handle upwards to engage the locking points.
    • Secure the locking points and main deadbolt by turning the key.
  • Unlocking Procedure:
    • Turn the key to unlock the system.
    • Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.

Security Assurance: The Winkhaus Trulock has been rigorously tested to withstand 100,000 cycles, ensuring long-lasting performance and security for your doors.

For precise measurements, follow these guidelines:

Measuring the Backset: To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This measurement is crucial for ensuring a proper fit.

Measuring the Centres (PZ): The PZ measurement is the distance from the center of the lock cylinder to the center of the handle spindle. Use a tape measure to find this distance accurately.

Measuring the Faceplate: To measure the faceplate, you need to measure the width and height of the existing faceplate on the door. This ensures that the new faceplate will fit perfectly without any gaps.
