Product Overview: KFV Lever Multipoint Door Lock
The KFV Lever multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and durability, featuring a robust configuration that includes 2 Rollers, 2 Hooks, 1 Deadbolt, and 1 Latch.
Identification Tips
Identifying a KFV multipoint door lock can be tricky. While earlier models lacked a stamp on the faceplate, recent versions proudly display the KFV logo. To accurately identify the lock, it’s advisable to remove it from the door.
- Faceplate Colors: Early models have a yellow passivated faceplate and dark grey gearboxes, while newer models feature shiny silver faceplates and light grey gearboxes.
- Measurements: Use the provided outline drawings to match measurements for precise identification.
Modular Design and Compatibility
KFV locks have evolved, with many older models now discontinued. The new modular design eliminates the need for changing routing positions during installation. However, when replacing old locks, adjustments may be necessary, such as moving keeps or repositioning hook boxes, especially if there’s limited clearance.
- Gearbox Specifications: KFV multipoint door lock gearboxes are single spindle with 92mm centers.
-
Dimensions:
- Overall height: 210mm
- Bolt throw: 21mm
- Distance from latch to deadbolt: 56mm
- Distance from spindle to top of case: 85mm
Connection and Variants
Older KFV gearboxes are typically connected to the faceplate with 1/8" rivets, a rare feature that aids in identification. In contrast, newer models use screws for attachment. KFV locks are available in both lift lever and key wind variants, and it’s important to note that these cannot be interchanged.
Hook Locking Arrangements
KFV multipoint locks feature two types of hook locking arrangements:
- Standard Hook: Typically throws upwards, regardless of its position on the door.
- Hook and Anti-Lift Pin: Offers higher security with additional protection against forced entry. This arrangement requires special keeps due to the close proximity of the pin and hook bolt.
Deadbolt and Roller Functionality
KFV deadbolts are characterized by a chamfered center, aiding in proper alignment with the keep. The unique shape, with raised sections at the top and bottom, assists in lock identification.

- This measurement is crucial for ensuring compatibility with your door hardware.
