Product Overview: Lockmaster Standard Multipoint Door Lock

The Lockmaster Standard multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and durability, featuring a robust configuration that includes:

  • 4 Rollers
  • 2 Hooks
  • 1 Latch
  • 2 Anti Lift Bolts

This lock utilizes a hook in the central gearbox instead of a traditional deadbolt, complemented by two additional anti-lift hooks and four rollers. It's important to note that this model is unsprung and should only be paired with sprung handles, which are available in our selection below.

Versatile Locking Solutions

The Lockmaster range is extensive, offering various lock variants with differing locking point positions. We stock the most popular models, which can be adapted for minor alterations, or we can source the exact lock you need.

Market Leader in Security

Lockmaster door locks are the best-selling multipoint locks in the UK. Acquired by Yale in the early 2010s, they are now part of a broader range that includes Yale, Millenco, and Millenco Mantis brands. Be aware that some older Lockmaster versions may have different locking point locations, which could necessitate enlarging the routing prep on the door by 40-50mm and repositioning the keeps.

Gearbox Specifications

Lockmaster gearboxes come in 35mm or 45mm backsets, available with either double or single spindle mechanisms. Bifold door versions are offered in 25mm and 28mm backsets.

  • Double Spindle Locks: Feature 62mm and 92mm centers and are unsprung, recommended for use with sprung door handles. They can function as lift lever or double spindle nightlatch.
  • Single Spindle Locks: Sprung and designed solely for lift lever function.

Gearboxes measure 228mm high plus backset +15mm. The latch and deadbolt each measure 30mm high, with a 65mm gap between them.

Installation and Adjustment

Gearboxes are fitted to faceplates with three screw holes, with the top to middle and middle to bottom holes each measuring 109mm apart. Earlier versions may include a small spindle hole near the latch for holding it back.

Roller Functionality

Rollers serve to compress the door against the frame, aiding in weather sealing and preventing warping. They are adjustable by 1mm for optimal sealing.

Operation Instructions

To Lock the Door:

  1. Close the door to engage the latch automatically.
  2. Lift the handle to engage the locking points.
  3. Turn the key to lock the system.

To Unlock the Door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
  3. A quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Corrosion Resistance

This lock has been corrosion tested to BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 4 (240hrs. NSST), ensuring long-lasting performance in various environments.

Measuring Guidelines

How to Measure the Backset: To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This measurement is crucial for ensuring that the lock fits properly within the door frame.

How to Measure the Centres (PZ): To measure the centres, measure the distance between the center of the keyhole and the center of the handle hole. This will help you determine the correct PZ measurement for your lock.

How to Measure the Faceplate: To measure the faceplate, measure the width and height of the existing faceplate on your door. This ensures that the new lock will fit seamlessly into the existing cutout.

What is the Operation:The operation refers to how the lock functions, including how it is engaged and disengaged. Common operations include lift lever, key operation, or thumb turn. Select the appropriate option from the drop-down based on your specific needs.
