Product Overview: Kenrick Excalibur Multipoint Door Lock

The Kenrick Excalibur multipoint door lock is engineered for security and durability, featuring a robust design with 3 rollers, 2 hooks, 1 latch, and 2 anti-lift bolts. This lock is an excellent choice for homeowners seeking enhanced protection for their doors.

Gearbox Specifications

  • Spindle Options: Available in single or double spindle configurations.
  • Centre Measurements: 92mm or 62mm and 92mm.
  • Height: 225mm, secured with 3 screws.
  • Bolt Through Handle Fixings: A hole above the top spindle, 21mm from the top of the case, allows for easy handle installation.
  • Backset Measurement: When measuring, account for 2-3mm for the faceplate; a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when not fixed.

Security Features

The Kenrick Excalibur is designed with security in mind. The hooks are made from sintered steel, providing additional resistance against forced entry. The main gearbox features an upward-throwing hook, while outer hooks are bi-directional, enhancing the door's stability. Steel anti-lift bolts further secure the door.

Roller Functionality

Rollers play a crucial role in compressing the door against the frame, preventing dust and water ingress. While they do not significantly contribute to security, they help maintain the door's structural integrity and can be adjusted by 1-2mm for optimal weather sealing.

Operation Instructions

To Lock the Door:

  1. Close the door to engage the latch automatically.
  2. Lift the handle to engage the locking points.
  3. Turn the key to secure the system.

To Unlock the Door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
  3. A quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Certification and Testing

Kenrick Excalibur locks are recognized as an approved Secured by Design supplier, with some models compatible with PAS24 standards. They undergo rigorous testing, including 100,000 cycles and a minimum of 240 hours of salt spray testing, surpassing BS EN 1670:2007 standards.

Measuring Guidelines

Backset Measurement: To measure the backset, take a tape measure and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This measurement is crucial for ensuring that the lock fits properly within the door frame.

Centres Measurement: For measuring the centres (PZ), measure the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. This ensures that both components align correctly for smooth operation.

Faceplate Measurement: To measure the faceplate, you need to measure the width and height of the existing faceplate on your door. This will help you select the correct faceplate from the drop-down options.

Operation Details: ;The operation of the lock can vary based on the specific model. Typically, it involves lifting the handle to engage the locking mechanism and turning the key to secure or release the lock. Please refer to the specific operation instructions provided with your lock for detailed guidance.
