Product Overview: Roto H650 Gearboxes
Roto H650 gearboxes are designed to provide enhanced functionality while maintaining the same dimensions as the H600 series. These gearboxes are available in various backsets, including 25mm, 28mm, 35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 50mm, 55mm, and 65mm, and are equipped with single spindle operation.
Specifications:
- Dimensions: The H650 gearbox measures 212mm in height, with the backset plus an additional 15mm.
- Latch and Deadbolt Heights: The latch stands at 29mm, while the deadbolt measures 30mm. There is a 58mm gap between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt.
- Faceplate Fitting: Gearboxes are secured to faceplates using three screws. The distance from the top screw to the middle screw is 70mm, and from the middle screw to the bottom screw is 125mm.
Key Features:
- Whisper Latch: The H650 multipoint door lock gearboxes come standard with a "whisper latch," which incorporates a central plastic component to ensure quiet door closure. Note that some locks may have alternative latch types without the plastic insert, though these are rare.
Market Availability:
In European markets, Roto offers locks with backsets ranging from 25mm to 80mm. However, in the UK, the most common backsets available are 35mm and 45mm. When measuring the backset, it is important to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate; thus, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure approximately 32mm when not attached to the strip.
