Introducing the ERA Multipoint Door Lock Gearboxes
ERA multipoint door lock gearboxes stand out with their unique square design, free from corner cut-outs. Measuring 221mm in overall length, these gearboxes are engineered for versatility, accommodating various backset sizes of 30mm, 35mm, or 45mm, while maintaining consistent dimensions across the range.
What sets this ERA gearbox apart is its thinner deadbolt, specifically designed for applications where the lock faceplate cut-out is too narrow for standard versions. This innovative feature ensures compatibility without compromising security.
Each ERA gearbox can be equipped with a classic deadbolt, offering options for a standard euro cut-out, an Invincible cylinder cut-out, or a Vectis 5 lever mechanism. Additionally, users can choose between a deadbolt or a hook bolt that throws upward, enhancing the locking mechanism's functionality. For those seeking top-tier security, the British Standard Fortress invincible gearbox is available, featuring hardened drill plates for added protection.
Flexibility is key with ERA gearboxes. Except for the British Standard Fortress lock and the SureFire model, all ERA gearboxes are interchangeable. If your client requires a hook lock instead of a deadbolt or a Vectis locking multipoint door lock, simply reach out to us, and we will customize the lock to meet their specific needs.

To ensure you have all the necessary details for your ERA multipoint door lock gearboxes, here’s a concise guide on how to measure the backset, centres, and understand the operation:
How to Measure the Backset:
The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. To measure it:
- Close the door and ensure it is in a locked position.
- Use a tape measure to find the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the hole where the lock cylinder will be installed.
- This measurement will give you the backset size, which for this product is 35mm.
How to Measure the Centres (PZ):
The PZ measurement refers to the distance from the center of the lock cylinder to the center of the handle spindle. To measure it:
- With the door closed, locate the center of the lock cylinder.
- Measure from this center point to the center of the handle hole.
- The standard PZ measurement for this product is 92mm.
Understanding the Operation:
The operation of the lock refers to how it functions when engaged. For the ERA multipoint door lock gearboxes, you have two options:
-
Lift Lever: This operation involves lifting the handle to engage the locking mechanism, which secures the door at multiple points.
-
Split Spindle Nightlatch: This operation allows the lock to be engaged from the outside with a key while the inside can be operated freely without a key, providing convenience and security.
By understanding these specifications and measurements, you can ensure a proper fit and functionality for your ERA multipoint door lock gearboxes.
