Introducing the Avantis genuine gearboxes, designed for enhanced security and versatility. These gearboxes feature a robust deadbolt positioned above the latch, ensuring maximum protection for your doors. Available with a 35mm or 45mm backset, they cater to various installation needs.
What sets Avantis gearboxes apart is their unique grooved deadbolt, measuring 30mm in height and extending 25mm when engaged. The precise engineering includes a 60mm distance from the bottom of the deadbolt to the top of the latch, with the latch itself standing at 24mm high.
These gearboxes come in a double spindle configuration, with centers at 92mm and 62mm. This allows for dual functionality: they can be utilized with a double spindle night latch, ideal for front doors, or as a standard lift lever using only the top spindle, perfect for back doors. The spindles are designed with a distinctive cross shape while still accommodating a standard 8mm spindle, ensuring compatibility and ease of use.

To measure the backset, follow these steps:

Identify the Door Edge: Locate the edge of the door where the lock will be installed.

Measure from the Edge: Use a tape measure to find the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole or the latch. This distance is your backset measurement.

Choose the Correct Size: Ensure you measure accurately to determine if you need a 35mm or 45mm backset.
To measure the centres (PZ), do the following:

Locate the Keyhole: Find the center of the keyhole on the door.

Measure to the Latch: Measure the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the latch. This will give you the PZ measurement, which should be either 92mm or 62mm.
For the operation of the gearbox:

Lift Lever: This operation allows you to lift the lever to engage the latch, making it easy to open the door.

Double Spindle Nightlatch: This operation allows for locking and unlocking from both sides of the door, providing added security and convenience.
