Elite automatic gearboxes are designed for efficiency and ease of use, available in both 35mm and 45mm backset options. These single spindle locks eliminate the need for a double spindle version, as automatic locking gearboxes do not utilize that feature. The same gearbox is compatible with both standard and heritage versions of the Elite automatic gearbox.

The dimensions of the Elite gearboxes are 200mm in height, with the backset plus an additional 19mm. When measuring the backset, remember to account for an extra 2mm for the faceplate.

The gearbox deadbolts extend 20mm and have a height of 32mm, while the latch measures 30mm in height and projects 10mm. There is a 63mm distance between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt.

The centres are set at 92mm, with the top spindle positioned 122mm from the bottom of the case. Single spindle locks feature a round hole where a second spindle would typically be located. The gearbox is designed with a bolt-through fixing that is 19mm from the top spindle, and the slot for additional fixings is located 42mm above the spindle.

As the door closes, the small latch on each external auto-latch case is activated when it contacts the keep frame, causing the auto latches to engage without the need to lift the handle. The door can be deadlocked by simply turning the key, and all locking points can be retracted using the key.

This model represents the auto locking or slam shut version.

To Lock the Door

1. Close the door; the latch and locking points will automatically engage as the triggers connect with the keeps on the frame.

2. Turn the key to deadlock the mechanism.

To Unlock the Door

1. Turn the key to unlock the mechanism.

2. If equipped with a lever, push it down to retract the locking points. Alternatively, a further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch to open the door.
