Kenrick Excalibur Gearboxes: Product Overview

Kenrick Excalibur gearboxes are designed for versatility and reliability, available in both single and double spindle configurations. With center measurements of either 92mm or 62mm and 92mm, these gearboxes accommodate a variety of door handle options, including sprung and unsprung designs.

Key Features:

• Dimensions: The overall height of the gearbox is 225mm, secured to the faceplate with three screw holes for stability.

• Bolt Through Handle Fixings: A strategically placed hole, 21mm from the top of the case, allows for bolt through handle fixings, enhancing installation flexibility. The top spindle measures 128mm from the bottom of the gearbox, aiding in the selection of compatible handles.

• Backset Measurement: When measuring the backset, remember to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate. For instance, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when not affixed to the strip.

• Convenient Snib Feature: The multipoint door gearboxes include a small plastic snib on the faceplate, which can hold the latch back for ease of use and to prevent accidental lock-outs.

• Compatibility: While Kenrick Excalibur gearboxes share similarities with the Fullex XL series and Ingenious gearboxes, they are slightly smaller at 225mm compared to the 230mm of their counterparts.

Locking and Unlocking Instructions:

To Lock the Door:

1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
2. Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
3. Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key (note: on some brands, lifting the handle will throw the deadbolt).

To Unlock the Door:

1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
