Product Overview

The Eurospec Easi-T mortice sash lock is a highly regarded BS3621 mortice lock, widely used in new build homes by leading house builders for many years. This lock meets the stringent requirements of British Standard BS3621:2007 and is accredited by Secured By Design, a police initiative aimed at crime prevention. Only products that pass rigorous testing can display the ‘Police Preferred Specification’ logo.

Key Features

  • High Security: Equipped with 5 levers, anti-drill, and anti-saw features, ensuring robust security.
  • Distinctive Branding: The lock features a grey case with prominent branding, identifiable by the "E*S" logo on the faceplate and the "Easi-T" logo.
  • Quick Operation: The Easi-T design allows for quick rotation of the latch without needing to undo the case.
  • Material Options: Available in polished brass or satin stainless steel finishes.
  • Deadbolt Specifications: The deadbolt throws at least 20mm for positive deadlocking and enhanced resistance against attacks, with additional anti-saw features.
  • Versatile Use: Suitable for doors up to 54mm thick and can be used on left or right-hinged doors, opening inwards or outwards.
  • Keying Options: Supplied with 2 steel keys, with options for additional keys and the ability to key alike for multiple locks.

Compliance and Testing

This lock complies with BS3621 standards, which require:

  • 5 levers with a minimum of 1000 key differs
  • Anti-pick features
  • Hardened plates for drill protection
  • A minimum 20mm bolt throw

The lock is also CE and UKCA marked for use on 60-minute fire doors and has been independently tested by Certifire for fire door suitability.

Installation and Compatibility

Mortice locks are typically fitted within the door, making them a secure choice for both wooden and composite doors. When replacing an existing lock, ensure the new lock fits the mortice correctly, as sizes may vary. For new installations, using a morticer like Souber’s DBB can facilitate a smooth fitting process.

Additional Information

Always verify with insurance providers regarding compliance with BS3621 or BS8621 for external doors. The BSI kitemark on the faceplate confirms adherence to these standards.
