Compatibility

This double spindle gearbox is unsprung and is specifically suited for old-style Securistyle multipoint locks. It is important to note that it is not compatible with unsprung handles.

Installation Notes

• Gearboxes are secured to faceplates with three screws and cannot be interchanged with other locks in the Ultimate Collection.
• When measuring the backset, remember to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate.

Locking Mechanism

To lock the door:

1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
2. Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
3. Throw the deadbolt by turning the key (some brands may allow the deadbolt to be thrown by lifting the handle).

To unlock the door:

1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
3. A quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Latch Release Instructions

If the latch is pushed in before installation, it may stick. To release the latch:

• If your lock has a square hold-back spindle follower, turn it to release the latch.
• If it features a hollow white plastic piece, insert a screwdriver into the face of the lock and push down to release.
• If neither is present, use a normal handle spindle to pull the lever down and lift it fully up to release the latch.

Important Reminder

Once installed, the latch will function normally unless manually pushed back into the lock case. The handle will automatically pull the latch back through its cycle.
