The Yale Lockmaster AutoEngage gearboxes stand out from traditional Lockmaster gearboxes with their compact design, measuring only 201mm in height. The top of the gearbox is positioned 82mm from the spindle, and it features a groove for bolt-through fixings.
Available in 45mm or 55mm backsets, the AutoEngage gearbox is specifically designed for timber and composite doors. Each gearbox is securely attached to faceplates using three screws and is not interchangeable with other Lockmaster locks.
When measuring the backset, remember to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate. For instance, a 28mm backset gearbox will measure 25mm when not affixed to the strip.
This model represents the automatic locking variant of the Lockmaster gearbox, compatible with both regular and heritage locks.

To Lock the Door
Close the door; the latch and locking points will automatically engage as the triggers on the door connect with the keeps on the frame.
Turn the key to deadlock the mechanism.
To Unlock the Door
Turn the key to unlock the mechanism.
If equipped with a lever, push it down to retract the locking points. Alternatively, a further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch, allowing you to open the door.
