Information
The Maco A-TS multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and convenience, featuring two hooks and automatic operation.
The A-TS Automatic Door Lock integrates advanced locking technology with versatile opening options. Upon closing, it automatically secures the door in three locations: two hooks and a deadbolt. This unique mechanism ensures that all locking points engage simply by shutting the door.
You may encounter the A-TS lock referred to as the Maco Z-TA automatic lock. The Z-TA was the predecessor to the A-TS, and as long as the locking points align, these locks can be interchanged.
Maco Protect A-TS gearboxes closely resemble their C-TS counterparts, with a similar shape but featuring a cutout in the top corner. Measuring 202mm high, they are among the smaller gearboxes available. They also include a distinctive "soft" latch, which appears split in half. Note that Maco offers various latch variants, so this feature alone may not definitively identify the lock.
Both the latch and deadbolt measure 30mm high, with a spacing of 55mm between them. They are secured to the faceplate with three screws: the top screw to the center measures 102mm, while the center screw to the bottom screw measures 110mm.
When measuring the backset, account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate; thus, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when not attached to the strip.
A-TS hooks are distinctive, featuring a latch below the hook that activates the hooks when the door closes. The hooks always move upwards upon activation.
To lock:
Simply close the door. As the latches engage with the keeps, they will activate the top and bottom hooks, as well as the deadbolt.
To open:
Unlock with a single key turn from the outside, a turn of the key or thumbturn from the inside, or by using a door handle from the inside.
We offer a variety of associated products for Maco A-TS multipoint door locks, including keeps, spindles, handles, and accessories.
To ensure you have the correct measurements for your Maco A-TS multipoint door lock, here’s a brief guide on how to measure the backset, centres, and faceplate:
How to Measure the Backset:
-
Definition: The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder.
-
Measurement: Use a tape measure to find this distance. Place one end of the tape measure at the edge of the door and extend it to the center of the lock hole.
-
Adjustment: Remember to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate when determining the backset measurement.
How to Measure the Centres (PZ):
-
Definition: The PZ measurement is the distance from the center of the lock cylinder to the center of the handle spindle.
-
Measurement: Measure from the center of the lock hole to the center of the hole where the handle spindle will be installed.
-
Standard Size: For the Maco A-TS, the standard PZ measurement is 45mm.
How to Measure the Faceplate:
-
Definition: The faceplate is the metal strip that covers the edge of the door where the lock is installed.
-
Measurement: Measure the length and width of the faceplate. Ensure to check the thickness as well, as this can vary.
-
Selection: If you are selecting from a drop-down, ensure the dimensions match your measurements for a proper fit.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your Maco A-TS multipoint door lock is installed correctly and functions optimally. If you have any further questions or need assistance with specific measurements, feel free to reach out!
