Introducing the ATS automatic locking version of Maco's gearboxes, designed for enhanced security and ease of use.
The Maco Protect A-TS gearboxes are closely related to their C-TS counterparts, featuring a similar shape with a distinctive cut-out in the top corner. Measuring 202mm high, these gearboxes are among the more compact options available on the market. They are equipped with a unique "soft" latch, which appears to be split in half. Keep in mind that Maco offers various latch variants, so this feature alone may not definitively identify the lock.
Both the latch and deadbolt measure 30mm high, with a spacing of 55mm between them. They are securely attached to the faceplate using three screws: the top screw to the center measures 102mm, while the center screw to the bottom screw measures 110mm.
When measuring the backset, remember to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate. Therefore, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure approximately 32mm when not fixed to the strip.
Locking and Unlocking Instructions
To lock the door:
- Simply close the door. As the latches strike the keeps, they will automatically engage the top and bottom hooks, as well as the deadbolt.
To unlock the door:
- Use a single key turn from the outside, or a turn of the key or thumb-turn from the inside, or simply use the door handle from the inside.
