Installation Tips:
- Mortice Lock Definition: A mortice lock is installed within the door, providing a secure fit compared to surface-mounted locks.
- Lever Lock Types: Understand the difference between dead locks (operated by key only) and sash locks (featuring both a deadbolt and a latch).
- Replacement Considerations: When replacing a mortice lock, be aware that the new lock may differ in size. Adjustments to the door may be necessary.
- Fitting Recommendations: For new timber doors, consider using Souber’s DBB morticer for efficient installation. Ensure the door thickness meets the minimum requirement of 44mm as recommended by the Master Locksmith Association.
