Product Overview
The ERA Viscount 5 lever mortice dead lock is engineered for durability and reliability, making it an excellent choice for both replacement and new build projects. This lock is particularly favored by volume users and serves as a robust upgrade for existing 2 and 3 lever locks.
Key Features
- Durable Design: Crafted to withstand demanding conditions, the Viscount lock features a silver case with unique measurements that set it apart from other mortice locks. Refer to the line drawing for precise specifications.
- Finish Options: Available in polished brass or satin chrome, allowing you to choose a finish that complements your door.
- Enhanced Security: The deadbolt extends 14mm and includes hardened steel rollers to resist sawing attacks. It can be locked and unlocked from either side using a key.
- Complete Package: Supplied with two keyhole escutcheons in a matching finish for both internal and external sides, along with a security striking box.
- Versatile Fit: Suitable for doors up to 54mm thick, with options for extra-long keys for thicker doors. The lock is non-handed, making it compatible with left or right-hinged doors that open inwards or outwards.
- Keying Options: Comes with two nickel-plated steel keys, with the option to order additional keys. Locks can be keyed alike for convenience.
- Compliance and Testing: CE and UKCA marked, and Certifire tested for use on 60-minute fire doors. Always verify suitability with relevant authorities.
Installation Notes:
- Mortice locks are typically fitted within the door, providing a clean and secure installation. Ensure your door meets the recommended thickness of at least 44mm for optimal fit.
- When replacing an existing lock, be aware that the new lock may require adjustments to the door due to size differences.
- For new timber doors, consider using Souber’s DBB morticer for efficient installation
