To ensure you have all the necessary information for your product specification, here’s a detailed guide on how to measure the backset and centres, along with an explanation of the operation options.
How to Measure the Backset
The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. To measure it:
-
Close the Door: Ensure the door is closed to get an accurate measurement.
-
Use a Measuring Tape: Place one end of the measuring tape against the edge of the door.
-
Measure to the Center of the Lock Cylinder: Extend the tape to the center of the hole where the lock cylinder sits. This measurement is your backset.
How to Measure the Centres (PZ)
The centres measurement (PZ) is the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. Here’s how to measure it:
-
Identify the Keyhole and Handle Hole: Locate both the keyhole and the handle hole on the door.
-
Measure from Center to Center: Use a measuring tape to measure the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. This distance should be 92mm for your specification.
Operation Options
When selecting the operation from the dropdown menu, consider the following common types:
-
Single Cylinder: Operated by a key from one side.
-
Double Cylinder: Operated by a key from both sides.
-
Thumb Turn: Allows for easy locking and unlocking from one side without a key.
