With a 35mm backset, 92mm centres, and a 50mm case width, this gearbox is tailored to fit older Mila cases without the need for a complete replacement.

This cost-effective option allows for easy installation, but it's important to note that the fixing points are unthreaded, necessitating the use of self-tapping screws for secure fitting. Additionally, some older locks may feature an offset or cranked connector, which is crucial to check before proceeding with the installation. While replacement gearboxes now come with inline connectors, they remain compatible with older locks. However, users will need to modify the square hole in the drive gear into a slot for proper functionality.

Handing

Reversing the latch is straightforward: simply remove the screw on the side of the case, take out the latch, flip it to the opposite hand, and reattach the screw.

Operation

Locking Method: Lift the lever to engage the locking mechanisms, then turn the cylinder one full turn to lock.
